Where to See the 2026 Oscar Nominees Right Now in the Twin Cities
The 98th Academy Awards will be presented on March 15, 2026, and if you live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and have been meaning to catch up on the Best Picture nominees before the ceremony, the window is open — but not for much longer. Several of this year’s most acclaimed films are still playing in area theaters, including some that will be difficult to find on streaming for months to come. Here is a current venue-by-venue guide to what is showing where.
Sinners: The Most Nominated Film Still Playing Wide
Ryan Coogler’s blues-infused vampire film set in the Jim Crow South carries 16 nominations into the Oscars, the most of any film this year. It is playing at multiple Twin Cities locations through at least the week of February 20-26, including AMC Coon Rapids, Mann Edina Theatres, Landmark Lagoon Theatres in Minneapolis, and Plymouth Grand 15 in Plymouth. Additional dates at West End Cinema in St. Louis Park are scheduled for March 6-7, 9, and 13. Sinners is also nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Score, among other categories.
Sinners can currently be rented or purchased on Prime Video, Apple TV, and other major digital platforms for audiences who cannot make a theater date, though the film’s visual ambition — particularly its cinematography — rewards a large-screen experience.
One Battle After Another: The Awards Frontrunner
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which leads the BAFTA predictions heading into Sunday with 14 nominations, has a heavy awards presence in the Twin Cities. It is screening at Mann Edina Theatres and Landmark Lagoon Theatres through February 25. Riverview Theater in Minneapolis has additional dates on February 19 and 25. West End Cinema in St. Louis Park has several dates in early March, including March 6-7 and 9. The film carries nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Casting, among 13 total.
Hamnet: The British Contender
Jessie Buckley’s performance as Agnes — wife of William Shakespeare — in Hamnet is near-certain to win Best Actress at the BAFTAs on Sunday, and she remains competitive at the Oscars. The film, which is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Directing, and Best Adapted Screenplay, is playing at Mann Edina Theatres and Landmark Lagoon Theatres through late February. West End Cinema in St. Louis Park has scheduled dates on February 18, March 6-7, 9, and 13.
Sentimental Value: The Norwegian Drama Worth Your Time
Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value, which carries nine nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay, is one of the year’s most acclaimed films and one of the most difficult to catch on screen as its theatrical run winds down. West End Cinema in St. Louis Park has scheduled it for March 7, 9-10, and 13. The film stars Stellan Skarsgard, Renate Reinsve, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning. It is also Norway’s official submission for Best International Feature Film.
The Oscar Nominated Short Films
The Riverview Theater in Minneapolis is presenting all three Oscar Nominated Shorts programs — Animated, Live-Action, and Documentary — beginning February 20. These programs run through February 25 at the Riverview and through early March at West End Cinema in St. Louis Park. Short film programs are often the most overlooked component of the Oscar nominees and frequently among the most rewarding viewing experiences of the season. This year’s program is presented by Taika Waititi through Roadside Attractions.
Planning Your Viewing
For audiences in greater Minnesota, additional screening opportunities exist at Emagine Eagan and at suburban multiplex locations in Coon Rapids, Plymouth, Oakdale, Waite Park, and Shakopee, with several of the major nominees scheduled through mid-March.
